What is "Kayema"?

The word "kayema" is derived from the ancient Aramaic word meaning "long lasting," or "durable." In modern Hebrew, the word has come to mean "sustainable" or "sustainability."

Kayema Sustainability Index

Kayema Investment Research introduces the Kayema Sustainability Index (KSI) using SRI research, sustainability ratings, and traditional financial analysis.

The KSI is a customized index of the 50 largest Israeli companies traded on the Tel Aviv Stock Exchange in terms of market capitalization. These companies are weighted in the Kayema Sustainability Index according to environmental sustainability scores and market capitalization size.

Kayema uses a proven weighting methodology to rate the companies’ performance in the environmental and sustainability categories.

By introducing Sustainable investment criteria to the Israeli market, Kayema is able to identify Israeli companies that are demonstrating forward thinking environmental sustainable policies.

Kayema believes that sustainable investing benefits the investor in the following ways:

• It provides consistently higher returns
• It reduces risk and lowers costs
• It is a vehicle which reflects a value system for investment choice
